The First MMF was held Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Summit Lake State Park, from 11:00am to 8:00pm, free with paid admission to the park. The park address is 5993 N. Messick Rd., New Castle, IN 47362-9309.

Folks brought picnic lunches, and enjoyed a day outdoors with acoustic mandolin music, including old time, traditional, classical, jazz, blues, contemporary, ragtime, Celtic and bluegrass music by regional performing artists. There were also mandolin workshops, and some open stage time. It was very warm and overcast with a nice breeze off the lake - perfect weather! We had seating for approximately 100 in the performance shelter, though most chose to sit in lawn chairs in the surrounding grassy area.
