Who we are and when we meet:

NOTE:  Our fourth Sunday of the month meeting for May is cancelled - that is Memorial Day weekend, and most of us have other plans.  See you in June!

We are a group of amateur musicians dedicated to promoting, playing, and performing acoustic music featuring the mandolin.  We meet the second Tuesday of the month at First Friends Meeting Place, 3030 Kessler Boulevard East Drive, on Kessler Boulevard, 3 blocks East of Keystone, in Indianapolis, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  Click here for a map.  We also meet on the Fourth Sunday of each month from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, at the same location (unless that Sunday is a holiday, e.g. Easter).  If a meeting is cancelled, it will be posted in advance on our home page.
Players of all levels playing any acoustic instrument are welcome - come in the back door and join us!  Or just stop by to introduce yourself and say Hello, or stay to listen!  Part of our group performs as "Mandolindy".

In addition to our ensemble playing, we also spend some time learning and then jamming on fiddle tunes such as Whiskey Before Breakfast, Salt Creek, Old Joe Clark, Golden Slippers, Soldier's Joy, Sally Goodin, Angelina Baker, Red Haired Boy, Red Wing, Liberty, June Apple, Cuckoo's Nest, and others.  We spend part of each meeting working on our mandolin orchestra arranged pieces, and part of each meeting jamming.  Show up and play along with us, or stay and jam with us on any acoustic instrument you play - all acoustic instruments are welcome!
